Our sheep manage the dike areas. They keep the grass short, promote biodiversity, and leave valuable organic fertilizer behind, while also contributing to natural soil stabilization. This combines effective flood protection with sustainable landscape management, completely without noise and emissions.
Our employees can take surplus food to promote sustainable consumption. If there's any leftover food, we raise pigs that are fed with unusable food scraps.
We offer workshops for adults and children to impart knowledge about sustainable agriculture, animal husbandry, and ecological issues. Through hands-on experiences, we create a deeper awareness of sustainable business practices and healthy nutrition.
For all Monheim residents and connoisseurs from the surrounding towns, we offer our market box. Here, you can purchase fresh eggs and other high-quality products from the Marienhof farm.
We use green electricity from both our solar panels and the local electricity provider, Monheimer Elektrizitäts- und Gasversorgung GmbH (MEGA). We also heat with modern heat pumps and offer our guests an electric charging station.
We source our water from our own well, thus minimizing transport distances and protecting the environment. We provide our guests with filtered water via water dispensers. These piped systems deliver hygienically clean water and reduce CO₂ emissions in the drinking water supply by up to 86%.
We offer our employees job tickets and bicycle leasing to support sustainable mobility. The use of bicycles and public transport reduces CO₂ emissions and contributes to reducing traffic volumes.
